Limited Aggregate Analytics With GoatCounter

We use GoatCounter to understand basic aggregate website traffic, such as page views and referring pages. GoatCounter does not use cookies, does not store persistent identifiers in your browser and is not used to follow visitors across websites.

This limited aggregate measurement runs for all visitors. We use it to understand overall website usage and maintain the conference website.

Additional Analytics With Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 through Google Tag Manager only after you give consent for additional analytics.

When enabled, Google Analytics may process information such as pages visited, approximate location, device and browser information, referring pages, campaign attribution and interactions with important links.

We use this information to understand how consented visitors use the website and to improve event communication.

We do not use Google Analytics for advertising, remarketing or building advertising audiences. Google Signals, user-provided data collection and advertising personalisation are disabled.

You can decline Google Analytics without losing access to the website, and you can change your choice later through Privacy and cookie settings.

GoatCounter and Google Analytics use different measurement models. Their traffic totals are not expected to match. GoatCounter is the broader aggregate baseline, while Google Analytics includes only visitors who consent to additional analytics and are not otherwise blocked.

Rejecting optional services disables Google Analytics and Eventbrite, but not the limited GoatCounter statistics.

See Google's privacy information and Google Analytics information for details.

Tickets and Eventbrite

We use Eventbrite for ticket checkout. The embedded Eventbrite checkout is loaded only after you allow the ticket checkout service in the cookie/settings banner. You can also use the fallback link to open Eventbrite directly.

Eventbrite may process your personal data and use cookies or similar technologies for checkout, payment, security, analytics, and related services. See Eventbrite's privacy policy and Eventbrite's cookie information for details.

Cookies and Local Storage

We use essential local storage to remember your optional privacy choices. This stores your Google Analytics and Eventbrite preferences, the consent schema version, the consent policy revision, and when the preference was updated. GoatCounter is not represented as an optional consent field.

If you allow additional analytics, Google Analytics may set optional first-party cookies such as _ga and _ga_*. These cookies are created only after Google Analytics consent is granted.

If you allow the embedded ticket checkout, Eventbrite may use cookies or similar technologies for checkout, payment, security, analytics, and related services. The Eventbrite checkout is not loaded unless you allow it.

You can reopen Privacy and cookie settings from the website footer. If you withdraw Google Analytics consent, the website saves the new choice immediately and removes known first-party Google Analytics cookies where technically possible. Google Analytics that has already run in the current page cannot reliably be unloaded from the document, so reloading the page applies the denial fully. Withdrawing consent does not retract information that was already transmitted before the withdrawal.
